Cabin

Warning... this post contains a lot of pictures.

This past weekend we were at our friend's Jason and Aimee's cabin.

This included many firsts for Carmen. 

• First time in the boat
• First time tubing
• First time wearing a life jacket
• First time in the lake
• First time at a camp fire
• First time staying multiple nights away from home.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Carmen did pretty well on the boat.   She got a bit fussy when she was hungry or tired, otherwise we'd consider it a success.

 

We also got Carmen a little tube we could put her feet in and she floated and was able to walk along shore.   She was hilarious when she splashed and kicked and moved all around.  Again, she LOVES the water!!!

Popsicle

We were at the dr. a week ago since Carmen was fighting eating and started to pull on her ears.  I thought it was possibly an ear infection, but the dr.  just thought it's her two top front teeth that are coming through. 
We got lots of recommendations of things to try,  one of them being popsicles. 

Carmen seemed to enjoy it for the most part until it got small and then she quickly squished it in her hands :-)

Mommy and Carmen day

A little over a week ago Andy was out of town on a fishing trip.  I decided to take a random Thursday off to hang out with Carmen.

We met Uncle Mike, Auntie Christina, Ella and Adam at the splash park in Burnsville.   Carmen had a blast!

Overdue update

It's been a busy few weeks.  This is the first of multiple new posts.

July Daycare Photos

Here are a few pictures from daycare in July.    It's so fun to see how happy Carmen is when I drop her off, pick her up and then in the pictures that they give us!

One of the biggest challenges they've had at daycare is to get Carmen to take good naps!   The one way that's always been successful is in the stroller.   Any day they take a walk,  she will take a good nap.   We have learned that Carmen LOVES to be outside and the walks must help her to relax.

8 months!

What is new with Carmen?

Carmen...

... weighs about ~ 20 pounds. Not 100% sure as we haven't weighed her in a while.

... wears size 3 diapers.  She is wearing 6-9 month, 9 month and even some smaller 12 month clothes.  Starting to get too big for the 6-9 months now.

..moved over to the next room at daycare. 

... loves to eat.   She is slowly starting to eat table foods.  We are working on puffs too, however she has a strong gag reflex and tends to choke if one is sitting on the middle of her tongue. 

... still has 2 teeth!

... is LOVING swimming lessons. 

...loves her baths. Just last week we moved her to the "big girl" bath tub as her other one was just too little.

... is crawling EVERYWHERE!

.. is pulling herself up on everything now.

... just climbed our whole flight of stairs at home last week on her own (Daddy was right behind her to catch her if she fell).

... is "talking" more and more everyday.  She really screams now too as part of her communication!  

... definitely knows who Mommy and Daddy.

...is sleeping very well and through the night!

… smiles at everyone!  And it’s a smile that melts my heart!!!

Happy 8 Months Carmen! 

You continue to change so much and keep Mommy and Daddy on our toes!

Another Milestone

On Monday night Carmen climbed up 2 stairs by herself. 

Tonight with Daddy close behind,  Carmen climbed up all 15 stairs by herself. Probably time to put the gate up.

Big Girl

On Monday this week Carmen moved over to the other side of the room at daycare.   Normally it's for kids age 9-16 months.  However Carmen is not sitting still now and getting into everything so they decided for her own safety and the interest of the other kids, they wanted to move her to the "big kids" side.

This means that she gets to go on more walks at daycare, play with "bigger kid" toys,  and most importantly start working on eating more table food.   They have tried quite a handful of different things, most of which she is still just playing with, but a few things are getting into her mouth.   This is just another thing that we are starting to work on at home too.

Air show

A few weeks ago we went to Grandma and Grandpa Benedict's house to watch the airplanes fly over their house from the air show in Eden Prairie. 

It was very hot that day, so Carmen got to spend some time in the pool too.

Matching PJ's

Riley and Carmen have matching PJ's and we didn't even plan it.

New Toys

Carmen got a few new "hand me down" toys from her cousins Ella and Adam.   Here are a few pictures of her playing with one of them.   She loves to crawl under it and pull herself up on it.

I am so behind on blogging..... back during the beginning of July my sister Erin and husband Adam and two kids were in MN for the week.  They came and watched our softball game on Weds night that week. 

Here's what Riley and Conor looked like at the end of the night.

I'm guessing they had fun! What'da think? :-)

Carmen's FIrst Twins Game

This is a long overdue update, but we took Carmen to her first Twins game on the 4th of July.  It was a hot day and a lot of work having Carmen with but overall a fun experience with her.

We were there with our friends Marcus and Tammy and Carmen fell asleep in Tammy's arms about the 7th inning!

I haven't forgotten about blogging...... I didn't realize how large the pictures were that I was uploading and apparently I have maxed out on my Google memory allowance.  I have to figure out if I am going to purchase more memory or what I'm going to do.

Until then, no updates. :-(

Carmen says Happy 4th of July!

We are off Carmen's first Twins game.... hopefully it isn't too much of a nightmare with her along!

7 Months

Here we are again at the turn of a month.... and Carmen is now 7 Months Old!  Things have changed quite a bit since last month :-) 

What is new with Carmen?

Carmen...

... weighs about 19-20 pounds.  A her 6 month appt she was 18lbs 8oz. 

... wears size 3 diapers.  She is wearing 6-9 month, 9 month and even some smaller 12 month clothes.

... loves to eat.   She is now eating both breakfast and lunch at daycare along with two bottles.   And then she eats dinner at home.   We have officially tried all the firsts foods.  

... is doing well at daycare.   She is such a happy girl!

... still has 2 teeth!

... is LOVING swimming lessons.  Each week she's gotten more and more excited about being in the water.  Last week she was splashing like crazy and didn't cry at all when she went under water.

...loves her baths.

... is "talking" more and more everyday.   Mostly says "Momma".   We are working on getting her to say "Dadda". 

... definitely knows who Mommy and Daddy.

... just started crawling on Monday night.  She is starting to realize her potential and within the next week or two I'm sure she will be getting into EVERYTHING! 

...for the most part is sleeping through the night.   Had a few rough nights.  Might be teething again :-)
