Daycare Bully

Andy went to visit Carmen last week at daycare and saw Carmen basically jump on top of one of the other kids inside the playhouse.

I went to pick up Carmen yesterday and one of the ladies informed me that Carmen has been tackling the other kids....... how in the world do you react to that?   I was laughing on the inside and laughed when Andy and I talked about it.

She's turning into being a little bully...... where in the world did she learn this?  

New Toys

Mommy decided this week that Carmen needed some new toys.... she seems to love all of them! :-)

Eating

Carmen is doing much better eating at home.... she doesn't seem to be too picky.

Silly Hair

Carmen's hair is just starting to get long enough for a pony tail, so we tried it out a few days ago.......

California Day 3

On Sunday, we slept in and then headed to the ocean.  Even though it was only in the 60s and the water was pretty darn cold we decided we don't get the opportunity very often to swim in the ocean.

Andy braved it much longer than I was able to.   However we were both freezing and numb and headed back to the hotel hot tub.

Overall it was a very fun trip.  We didn't see a Gopher Victory, but it was a good game.  We missed Carmen like Crazy but enjoyed some relaxing time to ourselves.

California Day 2

Saturday was the big game.  We were up early and met our friend JJ for breakfast and then headed to the game. 

We tailgated before hand in the U of M Alumni area.

California Day 1

Andy and I were fortunate to have a long weekend away over Labor Day.  We left on Thursday night and got back Monday morning.

We went to California mostly to watch the Gophers take on USC, however we spent a few extra days just enjoying being away and taking it easy.

On Friday we went and checked out the Santa Monica Pier, watched some huge waves on the beach....

Had lunch in Venice Beach and saw some very interesting people.

9 months

Last Thursday Carmen turned 9 months old.   We had her 9 month dr. appt and then Andy and I headed to California for the weekend.  More posts to come in the next few days......

What is new with Carmen?


Carmen...

... weighs 21 lbs 6 oz.  90% for weight and she's in the 50% for length.
... wears size 3 diapers. She is wearing all 12 month clothes

... loves to eat. She is completely eating table food. No more baby food.  She started to spit it back in our face and we took it as a sign.  She's doing pretty well eating only table food.

... has 4 teeth. Her front right one cut through her gums last week and so did the one next to that.  We are pretty sure her other front one and the one to the left of that are very close behind.

... is LOVING swimming lessons. She starts a new session this week.

...loves her baths. Although she tries to stand (which I obviously don't let her).
... is crawling EVERYWHERE!

... is now walking along everything.   She's stood all on her own for a few seconds and taken a few quick steps to Andy and I before falling into our arms.  Walking isn't far away.

... still loves to climb the stairs
... is "talking" more and more everyday.  Says Mama and some Dada.....

... definitely knows Mommy and Daddy.

...is sleeping very well and through the night! Except for when her teeth are bothering her.

… survived her first long weekend away from Mommy and Daddy. (or should I say Mommy and Daddy survived.... wink, wink).  Thanks Auntie Christina and Uncle Mike for watching her.

… continues to smile at everyone!  We got the biggest smiles today when we got back and they were priceless.  Wish I would've caught them on camera.

… continues to be miss independent.

You are growing up so darn much..... and changing so much every day!!!!WE LOVE YOU!
