15 Months

This is a bit late, but better late than never :-)

Carmen….

~  Weighs 24.7 pounds (she’s in the 75^th percentile).  She’s definitely showing off her toddler/milk belly these days! J

~ Still wears size 3 diapers.  We tried a size 4 on a few weeks back and they were way too big.  She is wearing 18-24 months clothes… a few 2T but most of that is still too big.

~ Has 12 teeth.  She cut three of her 1 year molars at about the same time and we noticed the 4 molar came in last week.

~ Continues to excel at swimming.  The instructor last week was very impressed as Carmen is the youngest in her class and she will do a back float with the teacher for 20 seconds without even moving (other kids definitely fight the backfloat).  We just have to work on getting her to kick.

~ continues to love the bath. 

~ Is still doing well at daycare.  She is the youngest in the room but seems to hold her own with the older kids.  A few of them like to get in her space and she definitely will let them know it’s not ok.

~ Is currently in a biting phase.  I was told last week that Carmen has bitten a few kids on 3 different occasions at daycare.  When she gets excited she tends to bite and that’s most likely what happens.  When they discipline her, she knows she was wrong and will hold her head in shame for a minute.

~ Had a few different illnesses this past month: A sinus infection, RSV, a stomach bug and when we went in for her 15 month checkup they found an ear infection.  But she’s doing well regardless of all this.

~  Is talking up a storm.  Current words: Mama, Dada, Milk, Book, Shoe, Sock, More, Please, Love you…. Really working on saying (or trying to say) any words that we ask her to say.

~ Really misses Daddy while he’s at work.  She’s showing some signs of being a Mama’s Girl, but certainly talks about Daddy all the time when he’s at work.   We have the privilege of being able to skype on nights that Daddy has to work late and Carmen loves it.  She loses interest fairly quickly but loves to see him on the computer.   And then when we are done and log off, she will associate the computer to Daddy for a while by pointing to it and saying Dada, Dada.

Carmen – You continue to amaze us each and every day!   You are growing and changing so much.   We are so grateful and blessed to have such a happy and healthy girl!

RSV......

We've had another rough few weeks.  Carmen came down with RSV last week which meant she had to stay home for three days and we had to do nebulizer treatments.  She was pretty miserable.

We bought Carmen her very own vacuum for her birthday.  She hadn't shown much interest in it until a few weeks ago and then all of a sudden she wanted to vacuum right along with Mommy.   Her's even picks things up (BONUS!)

Zoo

We've gone to the zoo a few Saturdays when Daddy is at work.  Carmen loves to run around and see all the animals.  Her favorite is by far the monkeys (surprise, surprise)

It's been a while.

Sorry it's been a while since I've posted.  Life has been busy these days with a 1 year old and Daddy not around much at night.  I will try to update as much as possible from the past month in the next few posts.  Warning: probably going to be mostly pictures.  :-)

Here is a picture after Carmen started visiting her new room at daycare.  She was exhausted by the time we got home! :-)

14 Months

No Pictures right now.... I will try to download some soon.

Carmen...

... weighs ~24 pounds.   When we were at the dr. a few weeks ago she was 23.8 or something like that.

… wears size 3 diapers. She is wearing all 18 month clothes with some shirts either 24 month or 2T.

... loves to eat!  She is starting to show much more what she does and does not like.
... is done with formula!  She is fully drinking Whole Milk now.   And only gets a small bottle in the morning and a bottle before bed.  Otherwise we are all done with bottles.

... has 10 teeth…. Just cut her two top molars in the past few weeks.

... is still doing very well in swimming. She is LOVING going underwater.  It doesn’t even phase her. 
  

… is WALKING and RUNNING!

... still loves to climb the stairs

… just moved up to the Toddler room at daycare.  Today was her first day.  It was a tough drop off but as I was leaving she had already stopped crying.   The kids normally don’t move up til they are 16 months but Carmen moved up early as she is developing ahead of most kids and was getting bored and no longer challenged in her old room.

... is "talking" more and more everyday.   Current words: Mama, Dada, Nana, Shoe, Ba ba, Monkey (makes the sound), Tiger (makes the sound), Santa, More.   She can also sign More, Please, All Done and Milk.

… is continuing to be such a fun girl!

..Misses Daddy now during tax season!    Hopefully the next few months will fly by.
