Funny Nap.....

About a month ago, Andy and Carmen had a Daddy and me day.   I came home to this picture of Carmen napping on the couch. Apparently she was so tired she completely zonked out right on the couch next to her baby. :-)

Carmen has turned into quite the Daddy's girl..... Daddy is gone on his fishing trip until Sunday (he left Weds).  Carmen had a sad and emotional night last night.   She was crying and asking for Daddy.   How do you tell a 1 1/2 year old that Daddy is on a trip and will be back in a few days???? I know she hears me but doesn't understand.

So Andy sent us the picture (see previous post) of his fish last night).  That made Carmen even more sad, so I decided to make a video to send to Daddy.   Just want to post it on here to remember :-)

Sick Girl.....

We've had a rough weekend..... Friday started out at the dr. due to Carmen's eye being extremely swollen.   Turns out she was having a reaction to a mosquito bite which was a bit too close to her eye....... Benedryl and Claritin should have cleared everything up.

On Saturday, Carmen started to spike a fever and was extremely lethargic, so off to Urgent Care we went. Her temp when we got there was 103. They said she had a sinus infection, perscribed an antibiotic and we headed home.  However not more than 5 minutes in the car and Carmen was throwing up all over. 

For the next 3-4 hours Carmen slept a lot and couldn't keep anything down including medicine, water, etc...... we started to get concerned because her temp was so high and we were pretty sure she wasn't getting any medicine.  So we decided at 8:30 to head to the ER.  When we got to the ER Carmen had a temp of 101.   She was awesome as we waited in the waiting room for about 45 minutes....finally got in to see the dr.  He said she definitely didn't have a sinus infection, rather just a virus and he strongly recommended stopping the antiobitic. We just have to let it takes its course  We headed home.   Saturday was a rough night with Carmen still fighting a fever all night long.  I sat in her room from about 2-4am trying to get her to relax and calm down.   Yesterday we had a low key day and Carmen seemed to be back to herself.

Due to the ongoing fever, Carmen and I are home today.  She woke up with another fever this morning and seems ok, except we are now dealing with nasty diapers.

Oh the joys of parenting! Being pregnant while taking care of a sick toddler has been a lot..... and I know it's going to get even busier when the baby arrives! :-)

It's been an exhausting few days but hopefully things get better soon!

New Camera

We got a new camera last weekend and so we were playing with settings while catching some pictures of Carmen :-)

A few weeks ago we were fortunate to take our annual trip up to Andy's Co-workers cabin.   It was a very fun weekend, relaxing and enjoying the water.  Unfortunately my camera decided to stop working while we were up there so I only have a few pictures.

4th of July

We spent the afternoon at my sister in law, Christina's house.   It was a warm day so we throughly enjoying having a watergun fight and playing in the pools.

Carmen and Daddy spent a few hours in the pool in the front yard playing. You can tell from her expressions she's thoroughly enjoying it!

Ok, it's been a busy summer to say the least and I have completely been away from my blogging.....

I am home with a sick girl today so hopefully I will get a whole bunch of new posts up. 

(Plus we got a new camera, which I'm excited to see the pictures once I download them to the computer!)

Grandpa's Birthday

We were all able to go to Grandma and Grandpa Skala's house on Grandpa's birthday a few weeks ago to celebrate as a family.  (As a side note, I don't remember the last time we were all together for his birthday)

Exciting News.........

We are EXCITED to announce that Carmen is going to be a BIG SISTER!!!!!! 

Her Little Brother or Sister is set to arrive on or around January 8, 2013.  

May was a rough month for me as far as morning sickness and exhaustion are concerned, but I'm excited to now be into my 2nd trimester and feeling SO much better!
