August Daycare photos

Here are a few pictures from the August daycare newsletter :-)

9 months

Last Thursday Carmen turned 9 months old.   We had her 9 month dr. appt and then Andy and I headed to California for the weekend.  More posts to come in the next few days......

What is new with Carmen?


Carmen...

... weighs 21 lbs 6 oz.  90% for weight and she's in the 50% for length.
... wears size 3 diapers. She is wearing all 12 month clothes

... loves to eat. She is completely eating table food. No more baby food.  She started to spit it back in our face and we took it as a sign.  She's doing pretty well eating only table food.

... has 4 teeth. Her front right one cut through her gums last week and so did the one next to that.  We are pretty sure her other front one and the one to the left of that are very close behind.

... is LOVING swimming lessons. She starts a new session this week.

...loves her baths. Although she tries to stand (which I obviously don't let her).
... is crawling EVERYWHERE!

... is now walking along everything.   She's stood all on her own for a few seconds and taken a few quick steps to Andy and I before falling into our arms.  Walking isn't far away.

... still loves to climb the stairs
... is "talking" more and more everyday.  Says Mama and some Dada.....

... definitely knows Mommy and Daddy.

...is sleeping very well and through the night! Except for when her teeth are bothering her.

… survived her first long weekend away from Mommy and Daddy. (or should I say Mommy and Daddy survived.... wink, wink).  Thanks Auntie Christina and Uncle Mike for watching her.

… continues to smile at everyone!  We got the biggest smiles today when we got back and they were priceless.  Wish I would've caught them on camera.

… continues to be miss independent.

Weekend Up North

As I said in my last post we went to Andy's Aunt and Uncle's house in near Finland, MN this past weekend.   Most of the family camps in tents outside, however since we had Carmen with we were fortunate to stay in the house :-)

Gooseberry Falls

This last weekend we went to Andy's Aunt and Uncle's house in Finland, Minnesota which is north past Two Harbors.  

On our way there on Friday we stopped to take a break and check out Gooseberry Falls.  I had never been there before. We didn't stay long but it was a good place to take a break and get a few good pictures.

Carmen's First trip to the State Fair

Last Thursday Carmen made her first trip to the State Fair.  Overall it was a success.  She got a bit over tired in the afternoon but once she took a nap, she was in a much better mood.

I can see it being a much more fun day several years down the road when she can go one rides.

Auntie Nikki's Birthday

I'm a little behind on my posts.

Last Sunday was Auntie Nikki's birthday.  We celebrated by having a BBQ and just hanging out as a family. 

Carmen was lucky enough to get half a cupcake.  She devoured the entire thing.  (I think she has her Mom's sweet tooth).    We think the sugar high kicked in about 3am that night as she was wide awake and bouncing off the walls.

I'm trying to be better about getting more pictures, however I failed to get one with the birthday girl.  :-(  I'm sure someone else in the family has one for me ;-)

Silly Girl

Carmen was being silly one morning while eating breakfast..... making funny faces and laughing so I had to get it in a few pictures :-)

Mike and Cyrea's Wedding Celebration

Last weekend we had a wedding celebration for a couple friends who got married in March with a small group but celebrated with a larger group of family in friends.

We got this bib from Auntie Christina when she first found out we were expecting.  She wanted a picture of Carmen wearing it.... fitting don't you think???

Cabin

Warning... this post contains a lot of pictures.

This past weekend we were at our friend's Jason and Aimee's cabin.

This included many firsts for Carmen. 

• First time in the boat
• First time tubing
• First time wearing a life jacket
• First time in the lake
• First time at a camp fire
• First time staying multiple nights away from home.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Carmen did pretty well on the boat.   She got a bit fussy when she was hungry or tired, otherwise we'd consider it a success.

 

We also got Carmen a little tube we could put her feet in and she floated and was able to walk along shore.   She was hilarious when she splashed and kicked and moved all around.  Again, she LOVES the water!!!
