Sitting Up

Within the past week Carmen has been able to sit up on her own for an extended time.  It's so fun to watch her talk, laugh and play while feeling like such a big girl.   She's definitely rocking quite a bit.... we are thinking that crawling/scooting could be around the corner!?!?!? :-) 

Mothers Day

I have never realized how special Mothers Day is until I've now celebrated it as a Mom!   Being a Mom has been more than I've ever dreamed about.   The little things I do are so rewarding and my heart melts each time I see Carmen.   Each day as Carmen grows older she is gaining more of a personality and recognizing me so much more.

Carmen -  You are one of the best things that's ever happened to me. I Love You more than you'll ever know!!!!  I couldn't have asked for a sweeter, happier, more loving little girl.   You are so happy all the time and love to give Mom and Dad hugs.    I Thank the Lord each night that I was chosen to be your Mommy!

Three Generations!  

Mom -  now that I have a daughter of my own, I understand how much work it was to raise us and get us to where we are today.  I know we've been through our share of ups and downs, but I am so grateful to have you in my life and to have you as Carmen's Grandma!  I LOVE YOU!

Scooby Doo

Andy won a life size Scooby Doo several years ago at the State Fair and we still have it in our house.    We are thinking he may find his way to the garbage REAL soon.   So we decided to get a few pictures with Carmen before that happens.

Riley's Birthday Party

Erin, Adam, Conor and Riley were in MN for the weekend.  So on Sunday we went over to my parents house to have a little birthday party for Riley.   My cousin Ang, Heath and Cruz were able to come over for a while too.

Cousin's Wedding

Saturday we had Nate and DIane's wedding. It was a very fun day.  (I can't believe I didn't get any pictures of the bride and groom.).

5 Months

Wow!  Where did the time go?????  Carmen turned 5 months old on Sunday!   

I will post more pictures tonight.  (The picture at the bottom is one I took this morning with my phone while getting ready).

What is new with Carmen?

Carmen...

... weighs  16 lbs 11 oz the last time we weighed her a few weeks ago at the dr.
... wears size 3 diapers and some 6-month clothes slowly growing into the 6-9 months.

... loves to eat.   She takes 3 bottles at daycare and recently started taking one bowl of cereal at daycare.  She isn't taking the cereal as well at home anymore but is starting to eat applesauce and bananas.  .

... is doing pretty well at daycare.  We had a few rough weeks where she wouldn't eat well or sleep well at daycare.  They thought she might've had an ear infection so she went to the dr, but it was just a cold and teething.

...loves her baths.  She is splashing around much more and always wants to eat the washcloth. :-)

.. just started screaming instead of talking.  It's pretty cute.

...is laughing and smiling a Lot!  We are so grateful to have such a happy girl!

…sleeps pretty well at night.  Mommy needs to be more patient in the middle of the night when she cries/fusses, but overall is doing well.
